Creating a safe place to explore the life challenges you are presently experiencing is my primary goal. It is from this place of safety and connection that we can begin together to sort through the often conflicting emotions that accompany both old and new experiences of trauma, grief and loss.
Our work together will draw on your unique skills and natural resources
There is no single path that is right for everyone, nor are there stages, which once completed, will ensure that our grief is forever behind us. Being human means having a full range of emotions and experiences. Sometimes these experiences come in the form of a loss of someone or something dear to us. Such challenges bring with them grief, deep sadness and even confusion. Our goal is not to eliminate or separate these feelings from our lives, but instead to learn how to feel and find positive and self-compassionate ways to live with them, discovering how they ultimately enrich our experience of being alive.
Whether you are dealing with a painful experience in your life right now or are continuing to experience pain and suffering from something in your past, we can create a safe place to explore those emotions together.

Amy was there during a very significant and painful loss I suffered, in fact nothing has come close to the pain I felt in my 50 years f life so far. With Amy by my side I survived the worst. I am so thankful and grateful for the support and guidance I received from her. – Sue
Without Amy I would not be where I am today, she helped me see my own resilience, and to stay present with my feelings. With this lifelong skill, peace is with me daily. – Jean
I’ve known and worked with Amy Schief since we were social workers together in the early 1990’s. We worked together on cases that were almost impossible to imagine. Amy was always the voice of reason and compassion, she was and is able to connect and offer comfort in places where no one else can reach. She is present and meets people where they are. Amy understands grief and loss from inside and out so she respects how differently each person experiences it.
From time to time it is helpful for clients I work with to talk with someone about issues surrounding loss. Knowing Amy is there to work with my clients during these times of transitions offers my clients and their families resources that are invaluable.
In my own loss of my father this year, I relied on Amy extensively to help me through. That is the highest recommendation I can give. She is equally safe and wise, creative and resourceful. Amy has a heart as wide as the world.
